This girl - Louise MacLellan - who is 6 foot tall and wears size 10s, and was bullied by being called the Jolly Green Giant when she was younger, has turned all this round is opening her own shoe shop in Lutterworth from today. It specializes in women's shoes from size 8 -11.

The article from The Mail says more about it and there is also a link to her website.

I am lucky, as I can often buy shoes from the high street (size 8); but I know many girls have difficulty finding shoes above size 41 (7). This is one resource which will help - maybe you could also add any other places you know that sell women's shoes in larger sizes - whether on line or as a shop.

Yep me to size 11/12 and very few 10's. Maybe a good thing in a way as I would be very poor if I could visit a normal shoe store. :-)

Always an interesting topic... finding shoes on the high street larger than a 9 is becoming less of a challenge thank goodness but the larger sizes still present a challenge. From a suppliers perspective every time I get approached from a manufacturer (mainly china i must add) they always require volume and groups i.e 3xUK5 in black 2xUK6 in black etc which is a massive investment and one I do not wish to take to be honest. One often finds that the largest "fashion" shoe they will do is only a UK 8 and only the one in the bundle so no real good anyway.

Over the years I have found a couple of good (nay reliable) distributors that can go up to a UK 14, sadly I miss Hayway shoes.... Debbie and co were great people and made good shoes in times gone by.... anyway the point being these are again mass manufactured in China. The caution I would offer is make sure your supplier knows their stuff as some of these shoes are manufactured to a narrow foot whilst others to a wider foot pattern it’s always worth taking the time out to contact who ever you decide to purchase from if you are buying on-line. After all its better to be safe than sorry and have to return the shoes for replacement.

The other point is that a UK size 8 is usually a 41 and NOT a 42. There is a huge difference as i have found to my cost when buying on line

if you have wide feet and are size 9 or below then try Evans on line and the Shoe Tailor. I think that maybe Evans go up to size 10.

It was a sad day when hayway shoes folded. I bought some wonderful shoes and boots from them. I agree that being a size 10 it is a bit of a challange finding some good shoes
