I know if you order online from M&S, you can collect in store, and your order is in a sealed packet... does anyone know if the same applies to New Look?

Yes. Most stores 'collect in store' comes in a store bag. If its the store people your concerned about, they have seen it all before so they don't mind. If its getting it from the store, then they will put it in a store bag for you anyway. I have yet to have any problem buying cloting from any high street store even when dressed in male mode. Just don't expect to be able to use the changing rooms lunchtime or weekends.

Thanks for that, Josephine, that all sounds good. It's been so long since I shopped for any clothes, I'm a bit nervous! I'll get round to shopping in person soon, hopefully.

Hi Sarah. I agree with Josephine. Absolutely no problems with New Look. I have extended my wardrobe substantially over the last 8 months and much of it has been on-line from NL as they do the cheapest tall fittings (on-line only) of all the main shops. I also buy a lot of the size 9Wide shoes (many of which I find are the equivalent of 10's or 10 and a half), again on-line as they tend not to stock many 9's in store. The bags are completely opaque so you can't see what's inside. The staff are always very friendly and chatty but perhaps that's because they all know me so well by now!. Whether dressed or in drab I will try on the shoes in store and immediately hand back ones I don't want for an instant refund. The same for clothing but only if I'm dressed; I wouldn't dream of trying to use common fitting rooms if in drab. Delivery to the shop is usually quite quick, about 3 days. x x

If you buy click and collect from Asda and collect at the store - all they ask for is proof of ID. They really do not care, or maybe even know what is inside the package you are collecting. And if you don't like the stuff they are same with returns; they have 12 months for clothes and I think 3 months for shoes.

As Jo and Trines have said most stores these days are happy to take the tranny £. If you don't want to shop in store but on line and have it delivered many stores offer "click and collect"...Next, M&S, Asda, New Look, Evans,,,,,,even Tesco.

      Go for it Sarah

      hugs

Thanks, Trines and Pauline, that all sounds great. Good to hear about the shoes at New Look too, Trines - I tend to be 10 in guy shoes, so that's handy to know.

Some good suggestions too, Pauline. Hadn't even thought of Asda etc to be honest, and I'd forgotten about Evans.

And thanks for the encouragement. Time for more browsing I think!

Ill chime in with ASOS as well, they do delivery to any shop which does Collect Plus (theres 1000's of newsagents, supermarkets, petrol stations etc!) - and the returns if they don't fit are super simple and fast. If you order regularly its only a tenner a year for unlimited next day delivery!

Oooo disclaimer i don't work for ASOS! just genuinely impressed with there range and service!

Ooh, thanks Jaqui - Asos is another one I hadn't thought of. Sounds really convenient too.

      You're all so helpful, yay!
